Swipe Dance
Swipe is a mobile platform for students learning dance through video. I joined as the solo product designer to help make at-home practice feel less like watching a class and more like learning with support. I focused on class discovery and in-video learning interactions, including planning, mirroring, and practice controls, so students could find the right class, follow movement, and stay in flow.

What I worked on
Discovery and navigation
Improved how students browse and choose classes based on level, style, goals, and practice context, so they could find the right lesson faster.
In-video learning interaction
Designed practice tools like mirror mode, speed control, section replay, and hands-free controls to help students follow movement without constantly stopping, rewinding, or touching the phone.
Movement comparison
Explored visual feedback tools, including ghost overlay, to help students compare their movement with the instructor in a lightweight way without relying on heavy AI body tracking.

Impact
This project was my first real lesson in "Contextual UX." I wasn't just designing for a screen; I was designing for a person in a small, dark apartment trying to follow a teacher. Understanding that specific environment is what led us to the transparency overlay and the discovery nudges. It taught me that the best design solutions don't come from following a template, but from solving for the physical and mental state the user is in at that exact moment.
